Wylah Brahaum
Wylah Brahaum has always been around and loved to take care of animals, beginning with the welcoming and adopting of strays that found their way to her family home. They became her pets – a menagerie of chickens, rabbits, cats, and dogs. She helped them when they were sick or injured, keeping them safe and marveling at the healing provided on each trip to the vet. Wylah’s passion for animals has led to choose a career working with animals.
She is a member and junior leader of 4-H. In high school, she is a member of National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and secretary of both the Spanish Honor Society and Students for Equity. She also participated in Band and Winterguard and worked on the Riley Dance Marathon that was suspended because of COVID-19.
As the oldest sibling of the family, Wylah had responsibility for helping care for others in the family when necessary, another example of her nurturing ability.
To begin her studies to become zoologist, Wylah plans to major in Wildlife Biology. She will attend Purdue University in the fall.
